British Standards Institute Annual Operations Audit

On the 13th March 2025, the British Standards Institute (BSI) conducted its annual operations audit. After a 7 hour intensive audit, the Iymcs Operations Office are pleased to announce that the Society passed the audit receiving just 6 Opportunities for Improvement (OFI) and no Non-Conformities.

Since 2021, every year our Society, its operations and standards, are externally audited by BSI and furthermore, the Society has its own professionally trained internal auditor to help the Society's Directors to raise the standards. This give a solid reassurance for our Society Member Schools and colleges, and their students, that the operating standards for the delivery of the Iymcs courses and certifications are of one of the highest in the maritime industry.

ISO standards are an international reference point of excellence in operations enabling a worldwide acceptance on a case-by-case basis of the Iymcs courses and certifications.
